Communication with Parents

We have an open door policy at our school. All parents are welcome to visit at any time.

Open communication between parents and staff is essential. Your child will benefit from parent/teacher communication. We will use the following forms of communication:

  1. A monthly newsletter will be sent home to keep you informed. Each class will also send home a monthly newsletter. Please always check your child’s backpack for the newsletter.
  2. A school calendar is provided at the beginning of the school year. Please keep this in a place where you can refer to it throughout the year.
  3. Bulletin Boards are used to pass on special school notices. Please check the boards daily.
  4. Parent/Teacher Conferences are held during the school year as an opportunity to share our observations regarding your child’s development.
  5. Accident reports are forms that are filled out for parents to read if an accident occurs at school.

Every effort will be made daily to communicate with parents when they drop off and pick up their child. If there has been an unusual or special circumstance during the day, this information shall be passed on to the parent. By sharing information concerning your child’s activities, we can work together to meet your child’s needs. We are always open to your ideas and concerns. 

If you ever have any suggestions or concerns about the program, please feel free to talk to us. We care about you, your child and your entire family. If we can help in any way, please let us know. You have representatives for airing your concerns and suggestions on the Bethany Christian School Board. They meet monthly and are eager to hear your views. Check with the Director to see who the representatives are this year.

Directory

Our Directory will be printed the end of October. We will use your registration form that you filled out in February for your address and phone number. If there are changes, please send us a note or tell the Director in September. Please also keep us posted of your changes in emergency people and/or pediatrician. 

Emergency Conditions

In the event of bad weather, Bethany Christian School will take the same actions as H.I.S.D. or St. John’s School. Please listen to the radio or television and if either one of these schools close, Bethany Christian School will close, also.
